Thank you, Jessica with Polka Dot Orchard, for asking me to design a few cards for you in my free time. It is such an honor to be a guest designer for you and Polka Dot Orchard.
This cute little thank you card started out as a plan white piece of Canson mix media paper. Using shaving cream and Tim Holtz alcohol inks I created the base background. While the back ground was drying I worked on downloading the Just Chicken In digital stamp created by Jeanie Hays. This set can be found by clicking here.
Once the set was downloaded, which takes no time at all. (One of many reasons I love Digies) I started layering my images and placing them where I wanted them. I even was able to reverse a few to get them to be facing each other. Next, I print them out and colored them up.
While my background and image were drying, I die cut a chicken wire background out of metallic Tim Holtz paper and a Black Thank You.
Now that I had all my card components created it was time to assemble. I started by gluing the chicken wire to the card base. The added the thank you. To add the cluster of chickens I used pop up dots on the main body of the rooster and then glue on the hen and chicks. The tail feathers on the rooster are loose to allow them some movement and give him more dimension.
There you have it a fun patriotic thank you card. Perfect to say thank you to a host at any summer gathering.
Thank you for stopping by today.
