Thank you for stopping by our site
Hello all, welcome to this month’s design team card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog. This month our sponsor is Colour of Love and the image I chose is Rory Pur.
This image is a very sweet image and could be used to make a verity of cards. With the fall season just around the corner I decided to color my image to look more like Day of the Dead gal so this card could be used as a Halloween card.
My card size is an A2 card (5.5” x 4.25”). Once I downloaded my image, I sized it on a medium size so it would take up most of my card front. I then printed it on Canson mix media paper and colored it with Karin water brush markers. Once the image was dry, I cut it down to 4.75”x 3.5”. Next, I used a dark blue water brush marker to line the outside edges of the piece. This helps give it a finished look.
For my layering background piece, I trimmed a black piece of cardstock to 5.5”x2.5”. Using the words from Tim Holtz new stamp set (Gothic Tapestry) and Brutus Monroe’s Alabaster white ink I stamped the words on the black strip and set the ink with my heat gun (if not the white will smear). For the orange layer, I trimmed a 5” x 3.1” and then stamped it in orange with the skull image for the same Tim Holtz set mentioned above. After it was stamped the image did not turn out as dark as I hoped, however I left it as is and used the orange layer any ways. Once all three layers were created, I layered them on my card front, then added a little gold sparkly Nuvo drops to the girls’ pants.
Thank you for stopping by today to see this month’s challenge card. To leave a comment or ask a question please hope over to my Facebook page Heidi Cope Creations and look for this post.
