Bunny Kimono Fairy

A little cuteness to bring on the fall weather here in Arizona.

Today’s digital image is called Sakura in March (Bunny Kimono Fairy) illustrated by Ching-Chou Kuik for the Corrosive Design Blog.

Card size is A2 (4.25×5.5)

I was undecided on using this image for a craft or a card, so I did both.

I printed my image on Canson mixed media paper and Fun Shrink plastic paper. Originally, I was going to water color my card image, that’s why I printed it on the Canson mixed media paper. Instead I used Copic markers and it bled a little more than I would have liked it too.

After creating my card, I colored the images I had printed on the Fun Shrink paper. To color on the Fun Shrink paper you need to use an alcohol-based ink, so I used my Copics. The ink doesn’t absorb on the Fun Shrink or blend well. So, you have to use a light hand and work in sections allowing the ink to dry. Once the images were colored, I cut them out leaving a tab at the top to punch a hole in so I had a spot to put a jewelry ring. Next I popped them in my toaster oven for a few seconds. (follow package instructions) Once they we cooled, I added a small jewelry ring and a small chain to make them into keychains.
