December – Corrosive Design Team Challenge

This month for The Corrosive Challenge design team is sponsored by Morgan’s Art World & LeAnn’s World 101. I chose to pick an image from Morgan’s Art World, the image can be found in my products used list below.

Once I had my image selected, I decided to color it in with chalk. Once it was all colored, I used a wet paint brush to go over the image to set the chalk. This will prevent the chalk from smearing and helped smooth out some of the color lines.

Using a frame and 4×6 flat canvas I picked up from the dollar store I got to town creating this calendar. To create the purple background, I used a stencil and acrylic paint. To dry the paint I used my heat gun so I could quickly move along. Next, I added some washi tape. Because this is a gift intended to be used all year, I added a little glue to help hold the washi tape to the canvas.

Before adding the Butterfly & calendar, I placed the canvas in my picture frame, leaving out the glass piece. Next, I glued on the calendar and the butterfly.

Start to finish I think this whole project took about 45 min to an hour. Not bad for a nice homemade gift I can give to someone and have them use it all year long.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I created for my monthly design team challenge.
