Pretty Possum’s Sunflower
To start this card off I printed two of the same images on Canson mixed media paper I had cut down to 8.5×11” to fit in my printer. Once these we printed, I colored one full image and just the large sunflower head from the second image with Karin water color pens.
I let my colored images dry overnight before I processed to turn it into a card. This allowed the water color ink to dry. Once my image was dry, I added a little sparkle to the sunflower with my Gelly Roll glitter pen. I also cut out the large sunflower head and traced the edges with a yellow Copic marker to get rid of any white showing.
Next I cut down a bright green piece of card stock to 4.25×5.5”to use as my base layer. Using the Crackle designed embossing folder made by Darci I embossed my green base layer. To help the crackle embossing stick pop better I swiped over the top of this layer lightly with distressed ink -Twisted Citron, by Tim Holtz.
To assemble my card, I started by gluing the green layer to a heavy stock card base that is cut to 4.25×5.5”. I cut down my image to 3.75×5” and glue it down. To give the card some dimension I used pop dots and adhered the large sunflower head to over the top of the large sunflower on the card.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you come back soon to see more creations.
PS. I’m always up for a card making challenge, so if you have any suggestion please send them my way. It helps motivate me to create.
