Happy 4th of July!

I hope you each have a fun and safe day today.

Today’s festive Corrosive Challenge Blog design team card was created using Doodles Cheers by Digi Doodles Studios. These ladies sure look like they are ready to celebrate 4th of July in style.

This card was created by downloading Doodles Cheers digi stamp and then sizing it to fit my card front (5.5”x4.25”)

Using Ken Oliver’s color burst I water colored my whole image. This can be tricky because the colors like to run if your brush is too wet. To help prevent running I work in stage around my card, then go back and touch up areas that may need more color. Once it’s all colored, I dry it using my heat gun.

At times when water coloring your paper becomes wavy. Using a heat gun to dry your image helps to not only dry your paper quicker, but also will flatten it out some too. When I cannot get the heat gun to flatten my image out enough, I will run my image through my heat laminator a couple of times. This usually does the trick.

Once my image was smooth, I added some fireworks to the back ground using Gelly roll glitter pens. Next I began tearing the edges off around the image to give it a tattered look. From here I glued my image to a black card base. Needing something a little more to brighten up my card I used some black and silver ribbon to make side knot on the card.

This card was quick and simple to make. This card can easily be turned into a thank you card or a birthday card. Leaving off a front sentiment will allow me to later customize this card when I’m ready to use it.

Thank you for stopping by today.
