October Corrosive Design Team Card

Welcome to October’s Corrosive Design team Blog. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. As a child over the month of October my family would transform our front yard into a spooky graveyard, this has always been one of my favorite things to do.

This year we will be hosting a Halloween gathering for family and friends so when I came across Cupcake No 2 image by Mirtillamente. (this image can be found at mirtillamentecrafts.com) I knew it would be prefect for a table sign for my desserts.

After printing my image on heavy cardstock, I colored it using Copic markers. Once it was colored, I added some clear Winkastella to get some sparkle (it doesn’t pick up on camera well). While the image dried I worked on creating my base layers. I die cut out 4 spider webs and glued them to a 5.5×4.25 black card stock. Next I cut a deep purple card stock down to 5×7” and embossed it. To add dimension, I brushed over the top with a black ink pad.

To assemble my card, I used foam tap to adhere the black layer to the purple and the white image layer to the black. I then stamped out my sentiments, inked around them and added two layers of foam tape to pop them up on the card. Lastly I added the image to a black picture frame placing the image on top of the glass and carefully pulled the lose ends of my spider webs through. This helps bring the sign to life.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
