Well, it’s that time of the year where Elf on the shelf becomes very popular. Yes, that is right my friends December is upon us and another year is almost over. Since I don’t have young children at home or an elf, I have decided to bring you an elf on a card for The Corrosive Challenge Blog.
Today’s digital image Santa’s Helper is illustrated by LeAnnsWorld101 and can be purchase by clicking here or the link below.
After printing 2 of these images on a light weight cardstock I colored one completely with Copic markers in non-traditional colors and just the hat on the other so I could use it to give some dimension. Once she was colored, I hand cut her out.
To create the background for my A2 size card I used some textured hot pink card stock I had on hand and embossed it with a Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder. I then took a small Gathered Twigs distressed ink cube and lightly ran it over the top to help bring out the embossing.
To give my card dimension I cut a black frame out and popped it up on the base with faom tape. I also used a small piece of foam tape under the bag on my image to pop it up. If you look closely, I used two different dimensions of foam tap on the elf’s hat to give it a 3D effect. To hide the white foam tape I carefully colored it with Copic and sharpie markers.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. Product used to create this fun card can be found below.
