September The Corrosive Blog Challenge

Although today’s design team image is definitely not the one I originally picked it is still a workable image.  For September our sponsor is Colour of Love. The image I was sent is Witchy Possum and Batty Bat’s Candy Corn Treats by Heather Valentin.

To design this card front I started out by printing my image on an 8.5 x 11” sheet of Canson watercolor paper. I then colored the imaged primarily with Ken Oliver color burst. To color the bat neon green I used Karin watercolor brush markers. Once I was down water coloring, I used my heat gun to dry the paper. To add some sparkle, I used metallic Gelly Roll pens and went over a few areas in the candy corn.

After my image was good and dry, I began to cut out different layering sizes of paper using solid black and orange sparkly card stock. From there I glue the layers together to create the card front. I left a sentiment off for now so I can customize it when I am ready to use the card.
